Description:

In episode 140 of the Lecture Breakers podcast, I'm excited to welcome Dr. Michael McCreary to the show. Michael is the co-founder of "Teaching Tools," a new project which creates web-based tools that are designed to help you plan effective and inclusive learning experiences.

This is a "tech spotlight" episode which means you'll get a chance to take a deep dive into a new technology tool to help you break up your lectures, increase student engagement, and improve learning.

"Teaching Tools" is an innovative set of resources, and they're all easy to use. With the Active Learning Library, you select a few variables based on your learning outcomes and then within minutes, you’ll gea list of recommended activities you can choose from (wow!) along with links to evidence-based research in case you want to learn more.

Another resource, the Lesson Planning Tool, structures the lesson design experience to make course prep quick and easy. But that’s not all Teaching Tools can do! And that’s why Michael is here to talk about how these tools work and why you should give them a try.
